PhD. Odalys Ruiz Hernández

She is a researcher at the Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology of Cuba, specifically in the area of ​​Technological Development, since she completed her studies in Chemical Engineering in 1995. She has Master of Science since 2003 and her doctoral thesis was carried out in 2013, both at the Technological University of Havana. In the last 10 years she has worked on the development of a new fermentation technology to obtain recombinant proteins. She is the author or co-author of more than 10 publications in international journals, a patent and a book chapter related to gene therapy. She has more than 20 presentations at international conferences. She has obtained 3 national awards from the Cuban Academy of Sciences, one of which as lead author in 2011. She received the PAMBA International Award for excellence in marine biotechnology work in 2009, and the Annual Cuban Health Award in 2011 Currently she is Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Chemical Engineering of the Technological University of Havana.
