V International Symposium Cancer 2025
Welcome
The Center of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (CIGB) is pleased to announce the 5th International Symposium CANCER 2025 to be held in Varadero, Cuba, from July 3rd to 7th, 2025.
This field-day event will bring together basic scientists, medicinal chemists, pharmacologists, biotechnologists, clinical investigators, and other allied professionals from around the world, interested in the fields of cancer pathogenesis and new targeted therapies development. The meeting will be an excellent opportunity to expose the translational nature of modern biomedical and pharmaceutical research. Within the event, we will dedicate special attention to antiangiogenic passive and active immunotherapeutic strategies and also to the combinations emerging in this field, particularly with checkpoint inhibitors.

Instructions to authors
- Number of words:The abstract should not exceed 350
- Font and spacing:Calibri 10 pt font and single-spaced.
- Title:130 characters (excluding spaces) and bold.
- Authors:Last name only, followed by a space and initials, in superscript, add a number for the Affiliation (e.g., Sanchez JR1,). There is no limit to the number of authors, but the primary author should be bold and underlined.
- Affiliations: Each author should be listed by department, institution, city, and country. Add ORCID and mail in the case of the presenting and correspondence author signal by this symbol in superscript *.
- Tables, figures, or graphs: Do not include tables, figures, or graphs.
- Title alignment: centered

- Contact Information:Presenting author’s and correspondence author’s email addresses are required; this information should appear below the abstract.

When submitting your abstract, please indicate the topic in which you would like to be included. Each author may submit only one abstract. Only a few exceptions will be approved by the Organizing Committee.
Abstracts for oral presentations
Abstracts for oral presentations should be written in English and should not exceed 250 words. They should be emailed to the organizers as a short report, as follows:
- Arial 11 pt font and single spacing.
- Title: 100 characters (not including spaces). Bold
- Authors: 110 characters (not including spaces). Last name only, followed by initials, in italics (Perez, C).
- Affiliations: Each author should be listed by department, institution, city and country.
- Body: single paragraph of no more than 1500 characters (spaces included). The alignment of the text should be justified.
- Do not include tables, figures or graphs.
- The e-mail address of the presenting author is required.

Call for presentations
If you are willing to attend the meeting, we would highly appreciate receiving a confirmation by May 30, 2025. Submitting abstracts for oral presentations by email should be done before June 10, 2025.

The registration fees include access to all congress sessions, the program and abstract book, the attendance and Speaker/Poster certificates, the coffee breaks during the congress days, accommodation, meals, and all scientific and social activities organized by the congress or hotel. The participants cover travel expenses.
- If your stay includes nights in Havana before or after the meeting, we can offer accommodation options.
- The delegates considering bringing students to the meeting should note that students have special fees. Special discounts will also be offered to selected speakers. For further details, please get in touch with the organizing committee.
- Transportation includes moving from the airport to the hotel and from the hotel to the airport. Please notice that transportation by Congress buses will consist of several delegates. Please get in touch with the organizing committee for further details for delegates considering traveling with accompanying persons.
Passports and Visas
Participants are advised to check on their individual requirements before attending the CANCER 2025 meeting. Visa applications should be filled out at the nearest Cuban Embassy in the country where you reside.
Letters of Invitation
For accepted oral presenters, the organizers will provide a formal letter of invitation to assist with VISA processing. However, this letter does not imply any financial support from the Symposium Organizing Committee. Please get in touch with the organizing committee for details.
Liability and Insurance
The CANCER 2025 Organizing Committee will not assume any responsibility whatsoever for damage or injury to persons or property during the meeting period. Participants are advised to arrange their own personal travel and health insurance.
