Ulaanbaatar. March 16, 2017. With the presence of the Minister of Health, Dr. A.Tsogtsetseg, a Letter of Intent was signed this morning between the Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (CIGB) of Cuba and the Central Hospital No. 1 of Mongolia which reflects the intention of both institutions to promote medical programs and therapies based on Cuban biotechnological medicines. The document was signed by the Cuban side by Dr. Eulogio Pimentel, Director of the Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology, and by the Mongolian side the General Director of Central Hospital No. 1, Dr. Byambadorj Batsuuri.
During the ceremony the Minister of Health noted that the visit of the CIGB delegation, by invitation of the President of Mongolia, has motivated in the health sector and pharmaceutical companies a great interest in the use of the products and therapies proposed by Cuban specialists. Cuban Ambassador, Raúl Delgado Concepción, said that visits to hospitals, health centers, laboratories, pharmaceutical companies and scientific institutions in Ulaanbaatar have brought Mongolian doctors and scientists to the products and achievements of Cuban biotechnology . The proposals for therapeutics for the control of Hepatitis B, the use of Hebertprot-P for the treatment of diabetic foot ulcers and the Cuban vaccine for the eradication of ticks in cattle, GAVAC, are the proposals that have resulted from greater interest for Mongolian specialists.
The working day of CIGB specialists continued in the afternoon with visits to state producing companies and private drug marketing institutions interested in learning about Cuban biotechnological products. Important media in Mongolia have highlighted the visit of specialists highlighting in all cases the achievements of the Cuban biotechnology sector and the production of medicines, as well as the achievements in the health sector from the availability of these Products in favor of public health in Cuba.
